Mid Summer Festivals and Fairs
Hey Suds Lovers,
Hope you're all enjoying the sunshine and safe from the raging forest fires of B.C. The drive up to Wells was intense with a blazing red sun behind a thick layer of grey. It felt very counterintuitive to drive ten hours from Salt Spring towards a forest fire, down a dead end highway to attend a festival...
But Wells had clear skies and damp mornings, and we (my helper Jouke and I) had another amazing time at ArtsWells Festival of All Things Art. The event takes over the district, turning the community hall, the old casino, pub, legion, restaurants, museum and theatre all into different venues. It's a 'choose your own adventure' type of festival, where you pass old and new friends on the main road and yell must see undiscovered bands, that play a few times over the weekend. Every performance is intimate, with jam sessions on the street and artists live painting mini murals.

Some highlights are The Honey Tongues, an eight piece swing-Americana-beat boxing- folk group. They are all song writers and the band is made up of four couples in love! More highlights are Jacques Mindreau and Nightingale, a hauntingly beautiful violinist along side a vocalist who makes layered wildlife soundscape, also Compassion Gorilla, a ska folk blend who made the crowd go wild.
Me & my helper Jouke at ArtsWells FestivalI also had the chance to put on a soap workshop at ArtsWells, with a great turn out and enthusiastic participants! Here is a link to a recap
I have passed the half way mark through the festival and craft fair summer tour. It's been tough but rewarding to set up and drive to several craft fairs per week. Speaking of which, if you're looking to wholesale savage daughter soap company's products you can get in touch for a sample and link to the wholesale pamphlet!
